Corn Queen - a charcoal drawing of elderly woman sitting among still life with ear of corn

Seated elderly woman surrounded by knick-knacks and mannequin holding an ear of corn like a scepter
When I first went back to college in 2001, I took a drawing class to get more practice working from life. During one of the class sessions, the professor had one of the students become part of the still life she set up for us to draw. The end result was this charcoal drawing of a seated elderly woman surrounded by knick-knacks and a mannequin holding an ear of corn like a scepter. In the years that followed the completion of this piece, it was damaged and then ultimately lost.

Materials Used: Charcoal on Newsprint
