Rubans de Passion - chalk pastel collage of female nudes surrounded by French love poem

chalk pastel drawing of seated nude women in yellow, red, brown, and purple collaged with French love poem
In high school, I wrote a love poem called "Ribbons of Passion" and had it translated into French (though I can't remember why). This poem sat in a folder for years until I was given an assignment in a Life Drawing class at college to create a collage drawing of the human form that incorporated text. So I took three of the more finished gesture drawings I had done in class of the nude model that fit within a warm color scheme and composited them together on a Masonite panel. To blend the multiple pieces of paper together, the background was filled with a purplish-red pastel I had used in all the drawings and the French translation of the love poem was written in the yellow pastel from the highlights of the figures to fill the background.
